What your eating is making you stink!?
Did you know that what you are eating is making you stink? There is an increasing amount of scientific evidence that certain foods can increase body odor, most commonly known as BO.
We all know that garlic and onions gives us bad breath, but what about the other foods that we are eating? Here is a list of the biggest producers of extra BO:
1. Foods Containing Sulfur: The main offenders are broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, garlic and onions. Of course we don’t recommend not eating these foods, try blanching them in hot water with a pinch of salt to minimize the BO affect.
2. Red Meat: It is believed that the high levels of amino acids in red meat cause an increased BO. In a small study published in Chemical Senses in 2006, women rated men’s BO (taken from their armpits) as more attractive, pleasant and less intense when the men ate no mean for two weeks, compared to when they consumed red meat. 3. Alcohol: We all know that its not good to over due it when it comes to booze. On those rare times that you do it’s highly likely that whatever is not metabolized by your liver will come out through your pores.
4. Fish: There is no doubt that fish has a ‘fishy’ smell, but there is a chance that you could be one of the few that have a metabolic disorder called trimethylaminuria. Trimethylaminuria occurs when your body cant break down trimethylamine (found in seafood) and that lovely ‘fishy’ smell is your BO.
5. Sugary foods and a low carb diet can also be contributors to BO.
So, what do you do? You can limit your intake of these foods, but of course… USE Honestly pHresh deodorant!!!
I love phresh so much! I have tried what feels like everything to eliminate my smelly pits and this is the only thing that I’ve found to be effective and not leave me with a rash. Love love love.
The men’s deodorant is excellent - goes on easy, doesn’t have an overpowering scent and lasts long (you’d be fine applying it every other day). The staff take great care in packaging as well. Highly recommended.
I've started using Frangipani&Monoi pre&probiotic deodorant a week ago. My underarm body odour was out of control, the more I washed, 3-4 times a day, the worse it got. So following some research to find out what could have gone wrong, I realised, that I might have destroyed the normal, "good" bacterium flora, so the odour causing ones got out of control causing the trouble. So while I was waiting for my delivery, I started using only plain water to wash my underarms, without soap and antibacterial wash. I already noticed some improvements in couple of days, I guess the good bacterium flora started to recover. Then I started using the above deodorant, and woooowww. The odour has gone! My underarm flora is well looked after now, I carry on using only plain water to wash the area in the morning and evening followed by 1 application of deodorant. 1 pump on the underarm and spread it with my finger to cover the whole area. Works like magic. During the 1 week of usage, I only experienced body odour once. I am so very happy with the product so far, life changing for sure! Hope it carries on delivering this amazimg result on the long run! Highly recommended! Wish I could order it from the UK, instead of paying for taxes and expensive delivery to order it from US. But otherwise brilliant! I found the fragrance interesting, nothing like I smellt before. No skin irritation at all!
The rose fragrance is so real and lasts a long time
I always recommend this deodorant to anyone that asks! I’m a postpartum mama and I don’t deal with being smelly like most moms because I swear by this deodorant!
